I have lived in Erie my whole life and I want to write this the way I wish I could have read it before spending years calling different tow companies in this city. Charles Excellent Towing Aid is the first one where the call went the way it was supposed to go every single time. My car died near the Bayfront District on a Wednesday afternoon. Answered immediately. Specific window. Driver in the window. Car handled correctly. Price matched the quote. I have tried five other companies in Erie County over the years. Only one of them has hit all four of those things on every call. You are reading a review for that company right now.

Alternator failed on I-90 eastbound near the Erie exit during a evening. Wind off Lake Erie was hitting the car sideways on the shoulder and the temperature was dropping toward single digits with wind chill. I got the car to the right shoulder before the I-79 interchange closed off my options and called Charles Excellent Towing Aid immediately. Dispatcher confirmed my location fast and told me to run the heat for as long as the battery would hold it and stay buckled inside. they said wind chill on that I-90 shoulder in made standing outside dangerous even for a few minutes. Driver came in 37 minutes which for that stretch in those conditions was fast. He had his lighting and reflectors set before stepping out, worked efficiently in the cold, loaded the flatbed, and drove me to a shop on Peach Street that could get the alternator in the next morning. Off that I-90 shoulder in conditions in under 90 minutes. I was genuinely relieved.
