Mud Puppies Self Serve Dog Wash

Mud Puppies has been on my "to visit" list in Erie for forever, and we finally got a chance to go right before our out-of-state move. Had to get all the loose fur out before 4 days of sitting in a car. Great choice of shampoos, anything from whitening all the way to hypoallergenic. Got supplied with the correct brushes for our dog's fur type too. Kim talked us through every step of the process, guided on the proper and most efficient use of the high velocity fur dryer, and taught us how to desensitize our dog to the sound it makes. Very friendly atmosphere, and the staff is ready to answer any questions you might have. Bonus points for the vast choice of leave in conditioners, and a detangler spray provided at no extra cost. Mud Puppies is great for grooming my Chows before a Show. Kim, the owner, is very gracious and Alexia has been very helpful too. I highly recommend their service and they sell good food.

Our two huskies needed a good scrub and the anxious twins always need to be together so we were a little nervous about trying a new groomer but they did sooo well! They sang in the shower as all huskies do but the self service wash was set up perfectly for us! Kim was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed, slip leads, shampoo, brushes, etc. All for an amazing price, we will deffinetly be back!!🐶🐶

⭐️ ZERO STARS if I could give them! ⭐️ I brought my dog here in July 2025 for a wash and cut. At the time, he had a cone around his neck because he’d just had his ears cropped. The groomer explained she couldn’t properly cut his face with the cone on, but told me to come back once his stitches were out and she’d take care of it. Cool, I thought—that sounded reasonable. Fast forward to September 2025, I bring my dog back. Same groomer, but this time with a whole new nasty attitude. Instead of honoring what she said, she flat-out refused to do the face cut. She claimed I should’ve come back “in a week” (which she NEVER told me) and acted like she was doing me a favor by even speaking to me. First of all—how would she even know when his stitches would be ready? She’s not a vet. Second, I PAID for a service I never fully got. Third, the whispering and side-eyes from the staff? Completely unprofessional. I don’t spend my money to be disrespected. If you want your pet treated with care and if you value basic customer service, take your money elsewhere. Mud Puppies is not it. 🐾 Save yourself the headache. ZERO STARS.

Cannot recommend this business enough! Kim the owner is a godsend. As a new pet owner I had a lot of questions that Kim and her staff were happy to answer. The pricing on the self serve washes are fantastic, but the value that comes from their expertise and hospitality really makes it worth a visit! The high quality food she carries is also very reasonably priced--could not be happier with my decision to bring my dog here! Will definitely be back for more regular visits!
